Mako Swim Clinic
The Mako Swim Clinic focuses on competitive stroke techniques, pool racing skills, and race strategy. Mako swimmers learn the fundamentals necessary to join a competition swim team or swim club. Practices focus on swimming drills, stretching, and knowledge of the water with positive and encouraging coaching staff.
As Mako swimmers demonstrate good fundamental skills, their practice yardage and conditioning will gradually increase to further prepare them for a competitive team or club. When the swimmer feels ready, the Mako coaching staff can arrange tryouts for the swim clubs in the area. Start your child’s swimming career right and give them the best chance to succeed in the water!

Fall/Winter Swim Intensive

Calling all competitive swimmers! Join us at our Northwest YMCA for our annual three-week Fall/Winter Swim Intensive.
Whether it's your first middle school season or you're a junior high swim team veteran, prepare to take your game to the next level! Our expert coaching staff, led by Coach Thomas Schmucker, will bring your walls, starts, and strokes to the next level. Come join us to become the best possible competitive version of yourself! Rates are $90 for Y members and $120 for non-members.
Minimum Skill Requirements
Must be able to swim 150 yards of any stroke or a combination of strokes without stopping or standing. Must be motivated to learn!
