YMCA Adapted Activities welcome individuals of all ages with physical and/or developmental disabilities. Trained staff and volunteers work with participants to assist them in sports, strength training, and more. See below for a list of current opportunities.
Adapted Strength & Endurance Training
Participants will receive goal setting and a variety of exercise selection including Cybex, dumbbells, treadmills, ellipticals and bikes. The Instructor will design an individual program to develop fitness goals identified by the participant and instructor. This course has been created for people who have physical, cognitive, social, and/or emotional disabilities to make a long term impact on wellness. The program will run from January 8 through April 29 and May 6 through August 26.

Adapted Matrial Arts
This course introduces basic martial arts techniques to children with disabilities, focusing on coordination, balance, strength, attention, listening skills, and most of all, fun! Each participant will have a peer volunteer to assist with techniques and encouragement. Program begins January 10, 2020.
