
Tai Chi is a series of slow, flowing movements practiced by people of ALL AGES (must be 12 years old to participate in adult classes) to improve strength, agility, and balance, while calming and focusing the mind.

TAI CHI/CHI KUNG FOR BALANCE
Sequences of movement that are learned more easily than longer tai chi forms are practiced with music for physical and emotional balance, leg strengthening, enhanced vital capacity and energy flow. This is both the perfect class with which to begin tai chi study and an excellent ongoing class that emphasizes all the fundamentals of practice.

SHORT FORM
Instruction & repetition in Grandmaster William C.C. Chen’s 60 movement short form. This form emphasizes alignment, balance, concentration & energy flow. The lack of impact makes it an excellent exercise for people with arthritis. Participants should be able to stand & move without assistance & to follow verbal instructions.

TAI CHI WEAPONS RETREAT: SWORD FORM
The Tai Chi Chien Full Hand Form is done holding a practice sword (unsharpened) or similarly shaped practice implement. An ancient and elegant mindfulness practice, Tai Chi Chien Full Hand Form is a meditation in motion that develops alignment, balance, strength, mental focus, and the ability to direct one’s energy flow. This two hour retreat is recommended for experienced tai chi students and beginners alike. Participants should be able to stand and move without assistance and to follow verbal instructions. SEMI PRIVATE YOGA, MAT PILATES, OR TAI CHI CLASSES Looking to learn about yoga, Pilates, or tai chi with a friend? Or perhaps wanting to celebrate an event together this special way? Try a semi-private class. Both participants must come to the Y at the same time to register.
