Our YMCA Fitness instructors are trained to give excellent group exercise instruction to help each member achieve their health and fitness goals. Our purpose is to create and instruct exciting, fun, easy to follow group exercise classes for all fitness and skill levels. YMCA programs are always helping you develop in spirit, mind and body to enhance your physical fitness while reducing stress on the joints.

ZUMBA

Zumba Fitness is like no other workout you will ever experience! Inspired by traditional cumbia, salsa, samba and merengue music! People of all ages are falling in love with its infectious music, easy-to-follow dance moves and body-toning benefits. Come join the party!

BOOT CAMP

It’s a class like no other. It’s plyometrics, running skills, jumping, stair climbing...intense interval. This is an advanced level class. Take the challenge!

Power Pump

Strength training is recommended to help keep muscles toned and bones dense. Certified instructors will use equipment such as body bars, hand weights, & stability balls to create a variety of workouts. This strength class will use exercises that are functionally appropriate for all and will create an overall toning experience for the entire body.

Indoor cycling at its finest! Join the ride and stay fit. Instructors lead you through exciting courses, intensity is up to you. Choose your ride...Maximum 17 participants.

DOGGIE & ME

The perfect opportunity for you and your dog to exercise together! After a brief approval process you and your dog will enjoy the experience of exercise while learning dog obedience skills. Initial class will be held at Canine Companions all others at the YMCA. Rain dates will be held at Canine Companions.

• Both dog and owner must qualify for course with Canine Companions for safety issues prior to session (date TBA)

• Minimum age of owner is 10 years

• Doggie clean up will be the responsibility of the owner while on YMCA property.

• Maximum 12 participants

A registration form for your dog will be available at the Welcome Center when signing up.

We’re excited to offer a group exercise pass for the summer that allows you to visit all classes on this schedule for one price.  Yes...it’s 12 weeks of taking your favorite class and exploring others. Please see schedule below.

All classes listed above are available for you to attend with your Flex Pass with the exception of the following due to class space limitations and/or a progressive class format. Your flex pass does not include:

Requirements for Participation:

• Group Exercise pass must be presented upon entering the class.

• Participant’s name must be on pass.

• Participants must sign in at each class.

• In order for the YMCA to run a safe class and reduce the chance of injury, you may be asked to try a different class if space is limited. Be sure to check with the instructor for space availability. 

• Instructors will be monitoring attendance.  

• Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

• 6 week sessions must be used during stated dates.

* No credits, refunds or transfers on group exercise passes.

GRAVITY... Total Body Workout

Found Only at the Monroe County YMCA

These classes are designed for time efficient, yet effective, full body workouts including unique core and stretching exercises. The GRAVITYSystem uses the body weight as the single constant resistance. It incorporates a complete series of resistance training exercises for each major muscle on one modality. This program will be able to provide a unique and time effective program specifically designed to achieve each participant’s individual health & fitness objectives. Limited to 5 participants.
